Colour coded cars to be introduced in Spanish cities

In a new proposal that is set to approved this week - all cars in Spain are to be colour coded as part of a new National Air Quality Plan. Cars are to be coded red, orange and green depending on age and efficiency.

Larger cities are already being zoned. The exact details of the plans have not been finalised and/or publicised - but it is widely believed that the cars will be restricted within certain parts of the cities.

Cars that pollute heavily, red coloured cars, may have to pay a tax or charge to gain access during certain times of the day.
