San Fermin celebration


The biggest celebration in the north of Spain, San Fermin, starts today 6th of July. At 12:00 noon on the townhall, the mayor of Pamplona ignites a rocket which signals the beginning of the festivities of San Fermin.

At the moment people is getting ready in the town hall, all wearing white t-shirts and white pants, a kind of red belt and a red scarf in their pockets or in their hands just until the party starts and everybody put it on the neck. Once people hear the racket, means that the party has begun!

This festival is internationally known because of the tradition of releasing bulls running in the streets of the old part of the town.

One of the most popular things about San Fermin is the Sanfermines confinement, which is a race about 800 meters ahead of the bulls, ending in the bullring. They take place every day between the 7th and the 14th of July from eight o'clock, with an average duration of two or three minutes.
Pamplona is a meeting point every year for thousands of curious and adventurous from all over the world attending the event and participating in the bull race.
